Fund Raising and Sponsorship

The Association has a fund-raising subcommittee which is responsible for raising the funds necessary to cover its financial expenditure during the current and future years.

The main sources of funds are charity collections at venues such as supermarkets and donations from individuals and local and national businesses.

The funds are used to conduct the day-to-day running of the Association and its programme of competitions and events as follows.

  • Scottish Outdoor National Championships (played annually - comprising Singles, Pairs, Triples and Rinks events)
  • Scottish Indoor National Championships (played annually - comprising Rinks events)
  • UK Outdoor Singles Championships (played every two years)
  • UK Indoor Singles Championships (played every two years in rotation with the UK Outdoor Championships)
  • World Blind Bowls Championships (played every four years)
  • World Disability Bowls Championships (played every four years)
  • Commonwealth Games Para-sport Bowls Championships (played every four years)
